Sasha Versa products are made by hand proudly in Dublin, Ireland. The production is kept small and local for the benefits of the community, which is the ethos of the brand. Each product is designed for every day wear focusing on minimal design, sustainability, quality, and functionality. The brand is created for women who are sophisticated, elegant, with a shot of rebellion.
The inspiration comes from the materials with paying respect to the crafstmanship in every detail.
Leathers are consciously handpicked for each collection with main focus on vegetable tanned leathers, that are eco-concious. Vegetable tanned leather is meant to last an entire lifetime but is also biodegradable when ceases to be used. A vegetable tanned leather is a craft on its own, getting its colour from using natural tannins extracted from wood, bark, fruits, and leaves. It is an ancient method for treating leather which takes skill and time to create.
The hardware is selected for its qualities of longevity and functionality. It is then incorporated into the design to complement the leather and to feel rich in your hands.
Sasha uses a labour-intensive method of stitching in most of her designs called lacing or ‘decorative leather stitching’. It is considered one of the oldest traditional methods of leatherwork and it is that detail which makes those products unique.
Sasha had first learned leatherwork when working in a small production factory in Brooklyn, New York. Since then she has continued to evolve her skills independently fuelled by passion and curiosity.
